Thanks to the Mikey Foundation

(a memorial  tribute to Mike Salem, VP of Heathwood Homes).   We were able to acquire a $3000.00 defibrillator for $1500.00. It is now mounted on the wall to the left of the kitchen door. With February being Heart Month, what better time to help us cover this cost with whatever donation you and your family are able to make. Cash or cheque (marked defibrillator) will be welcomed through the month of February and are tax deductible. Donations may be made through the office, via the collection plate or to Patty Duquette or Janice Gillespie of the Health and Wellness SGM. Thank you for your consideration of this request to help pay for something we hope never to use, but feel more secure now having in place at Eden.

Join Needs Assessment Report for our Ministry Team

We are in the midst of redesigning our ministry team here at Eden, and with this in mind we have created a Needs Assessment Report to help us clarify our vision in Ministry.  If you are interested in pursuing these opportunities, you can respond in confidence to jsc@edenunitedchurch.com.

EDEN’S LIBRARY

The library is located near the Church Office and people are encouraged to browse or borrow books located there. One interesting book worth reading is entitled A People’s History of Christianity: The Other Side of the Story. Written by Diana Butler Bass, a noted church historian, this book invites the reader to walk through the way Christianity has been expressed and practiced over the centuries! This is no textbook, however, but a living testament to the very current questions about life and faith that contemporary persons are still asking today. Contact Fran Murphy if you want to know more about the library or if you want to offer any assistance.

FOOD / WORK / FAITH Did you know that…..

• that Shoeless Joe’s and Caz’s restaurants give Eden 10% back from every meal you eat? Their business
cards are available on the table outside the office.
• that Swiss Chalet, 6970 Financial Drive, Mississauga, offers a 15% discount the Eden members
and 10% back to the church, from every meal, all you need is the discount card available in the church lobby.
• that if your place of employment happens to take part in an employee incentive program they may provide a
donation to the charity where you volunteer your time?  Please ask your employer if this is something that your
company offers to its employees.
• that Eden has developed a new rental policy that may help us financially?
Any questions, please speak with the office.
