We use the Seasons of the Spirit Adult Bible Study. Everyone is most welcome. You do not need to have a knowledge of scripture, just a desire to learn, ask question, laugh, play and sing! Come for a week when you can, or join us every week as we learn together. We meet in the library and enjoy a cup of coffee or tea as we gather.

The UCW (United Church Women) at Eden is an active group of women who meet for Christian fellowship, fun and service. The UCW is involved in serving the church, raising funds for the church and selected charities, and coordinating many of Eden's social events. We hold many events each year. The first Sunday of February is UCW Sunday. This service is planned and lead by UCE members. Often one or more members are honoured with a lifetime membership. The second Saturday in November is our annual Christmas bazaar. We work year-round to prepare for this event.
Our church community continues to grow and we are always striving to find ways to serve the needs of our members and the church. Because we have a large membership with a wide variety of interests, we have three units, each with their own personality, that meet monthly at the church. As a group, we meet three times a year for fellowship and business. You are invited to come out to any of these meetings. We would be happy to see you! Contact the church office at 905-824-5578 for more information if you are interested.
The Units usually meet at the church, monthly September to June. Check your church bulletin for meeting details and times.

For those who knit or would like to learn, we will make shawls for a number of occasions. These shawls will be knit with love and prayers, and then dedicated before presenting it to the individual. The shawl represents this faith community wrapping itself around the individual with our love and prayers.
We meet the 2nd and 4th Thursdays at 1:00pm and the 2nd and 4th Sundays at 7:00 p.m.
If you are interested, please email the church office at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 905-824-5578.

In January, 2013, we introduced a new curriculum in Sunday School – Godly Play. Godly Play is based in the Montessori-style of teaching and holds at its foundation the belief that children are spiritual already, but like many adults, do not have the language to speak about their faith. Godly Play encourages children to engage with our Christian stories of faith where they are at in their own lives. Godly Play encourages children to ponder how the stories of our faith touch their lives and where they might be in the story.
Those who lead Godly Play also feel their own faith deeply nourished in the teaching of it, but also in hearing the children’s insights and responses. It is a wonderfully rewarding ministry.
For more information about Godly Play, please go to the website: www.godlyplay.ca
About once a month the children are led in music by one of our Sunday School leaders. They teach the children a song that they then sing at the end of the worship service as the sung blessing. Our goal is to give our children a repertoire of music that will also deepen their faith.

Vacation Bible School
Vacation Bible School (VBS) takes place one week in the summer. It gives children ages 5 to 12 years old an opportunity to hear about God and explore their faith through a specific theme. While VBS happens in the summer there are various preparations that take place throughout the year to help make sure the program is a success. This allows for multiple ways to volunteer to help support the program. For further information and details contact Terri Hill at firstname.lastname@example.org
For where two or three are gathered in my name, I am there among them.
...and there are varieties of activities, but it is the same God who activates all of them in everyone. To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good.
—1 Corinthians 12:6-7
Why does Eden have Small Group Ministries?
When the congregation chose to move to Policy Governance on March 1, 2009, all committees except for Stewardship and Finance, M&P and Trustees (mandated by UCC) were disbanded. In their place, people were encouraged to form Small Group Ministries based on their interests and passions. Rather than sit on committees in which some of the work may not be of interest, individuals are now freed up to get involved more directly with the interests and passions they wish to act on. This also enables more people to get involved!
What is a Small Group Ministry? (SGM)
A SGM is a group of 10 –12 people with a passion or an interest in common who choose to gather together at a time and place of their selection and for a time period that they decide on in order to support the work of the church and/or to develop a sense of community at Eden, caring and sharing together.
Who can join a SGM?
Members and Adherents of Eden plus family, friends, community members –anyone who shares the interest and passion and supports our Vision, Mission and Core Values.
