The United Church of Canada is a "conciliar" church: that is, it works through councils. These are called "courts" at present and there are four of them. Made up of clergy and laity alike, the Presbytery is the court of the church that has the role of a "bishop": supporting and supervising congregations and ministers.

Hamilton Conference

Hamilton Conference provides leadership and support to six Presbyteries (Bruce, Erie, Halton, Hamilton, Niagara and Waterloo) to enable a variety of ministries in the Presbyteries and congregations and to do the work of General Council in the area bounded by Mississauga and Kitchener-Waterloo and Tobermory and Niagara.
